World Kindness Day, First Generation Day at Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center Nov. 13

Be the I in Kind with person standing where the I goes.

Rogers State University’s Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center is hosting two floors of activities today to recognize kindness and to celebrate RSU students who are the first in their immediate family to attend university.

On the first floor, World Kindness Day is being recognized with the placement of a poster and paint that spells “KIND,” but without the letter “I,” at which, students can stand to serve as the letter, signifying they “put the ‘I’ in kind,” and take photos for social media. Notes of affirmation also are available at the service desk to encourage students throughout their day. The Kindness Day activities are sponsored by RSU’s President’s Leadership Class.

Upstairs, students who are the first person in their family to attend college are invited to celebrate their accomplishment from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free RSU swag, food from Chick-fil-A, cotton candy, and more. “First Gen Day” activities are hosted by RSU’s Office of Student Affairs.
