Rogers State University has named Jennifer Withrow as its Coordinator of Counseling Services to provide assessment and counseling to students both individually or in groups. She also will develop seminars or workshops to address the needs of the university community, while partnering to provide activities and programs that enhance campus life.
Before joining RSU in February, Withrow most recently worked as director of operations for the OU Physicians Tulsa Community Health/Bedlam Clinics in Tulsa, where she oversaw day-to-day operations of seven multi-function community health clinics. She also served as an instructor at OU-Tulsa’s School of Social Work teaching its “General Practice I” graduate-level course.
She has 12 years of experience working as a counselor and social worker for various agencies in Oklahoma, Florida and Kentucky serving the needs of clients of all ages.
In her role at RSU, Withrow will work to identify trends in college mental health care and provide appropriate referral to community agencies and practitioners for issues beyond the scope of general university counseling practice. She will serve as a member of the RSU Student Affairs team.
An Owasso resident, Withrow holds a master of social work from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor of social work from Northern Kentucky University. She was named the National Association of Social Workers Graduate Student of the Year in 2008 and was named the Master of Social Work Administration and Practice Student of the Year in 2008 at OU.
