Rogers State University has named Lynn Wilson as business development specialist for its Innovation Center.
Wilson’s primary responsibilities include developing training and workshops for the Innovation Center, as well as businesses in the community. She also will help lead the center’s Entrepreneur Ready Community program, an initiative funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration to help develop communities that are sustainable environments for growth by entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Wilson joined the Innovation Center in February 2004 after four years of operating a restaurant business. She has experience in marketing, entrepreneurship, management, special event management and tourism.
The Claremore resident received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northeastern State University and an MBA from Cameron University. She also holds various professional certifications in entrepreneurship and business development. She also teaches marketing for the RSU School of Business and Technology, serves as a SCORE counselor for small business, is a board member for Leadership Rogers County and a founding member of the Rogers County Young Professionals organization.
The RSU Innovation Center is in charge of fostering economic development and addressing the educational needs of both business and industry in northeast Oklahoma. It provides companies with support and resources to assist growth from business concept to profitability. It also houses an incubator program that provides advantages to start-ups, including close links to the university’s academic resources and professional on-site business assistance.
