Rogers State University’s Department of Psychology and Sociology has named the Will Rogers Memorial Museum its 2023-24 Internship Partner of the Year.
The presentation was made to Museum Creative Curator and Interpreter Bart Taylor and Museum Director Tad Jones earlier this month at the museum in Claremore.
“Interns get the opportunity to experience the museum field firsthand, by working events, school programs, and they get to explore a topic relative to Will Rogers,” Taylor said. “I started as an intern at the Memorial myself, and it’s great for me to try and help spark that same passion in our interns for museums and for Will Rogers.”
Jones expressed appreciation for the recognition.
“We are so grateful to RSU and the Internship program,” Jones said of the honor. “The students have been great to work with and we hope to share a little of the Spirit of Will Rogers with them.”
This award is given in recognition of an outstanding internship partner organization that exemplifies the mission of enhancing student learning through pre-career experience in environmental, community and human services work.
