Changes are being made to a pair of Rogers State University Homecoming events due to forecasted inclement weather.
The Pep Rally scheduled to take place at the Ne-Mar Center in Claremore will now be held at the Will Rogers Auditorium on the RSU campus. It will still begin at 7 p.m.
Fans will still be able to meet the Hillcat men’s and women’s basketball teams, see the RSU cheer squad, enjoy free food and listen to a country/rock concert from the Wilbur Lee Tucker Band.
The outdoor activities for Saturday’s “Hillcat Alley” event are being cancelled with remaining activities moving under the tent.
Free food from Billy Sims BBQ (while supplies last), photo booth, games, contests and prizes can be found adjacent to the Claremore Expo Center where the basketball games will be played.
The Pep Rally and Hillcat Alley are free and open to the public.
Both Hillcat teams will face off against Arlington Baptist College, with the women’s game tipping off at 2 p.m. and the men’s game following at 4 p.m.
The 2014 RSU Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime of the men’s game. They will be joined by the Homecoming Prince and Princess from Claremont Elementary School, RSU’s partner in theHillcub Program.
General admission game tickets can be purchased for $7 for adults or $4 for students and seniors. Children 12 and younger as well as all RSU students, faculty and staff (with ID) are free.
Homecoming activities will conclude with a special performance of RSU Theatre’s production of “Decision Height” at 7:07 p.m. in the Will Rogers Auditorium. Regularly priced admission is $12 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for RSU students, faculty and staff who present university ID. All proceeds will benefit student participation in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival regional competition. Tickets also may be purchased online.
