Rogers State University intends to relocate its business and human resources operations to the vacant Innovation Center building, freeing space in Markham Hall that will allow the university to strengthen its commitment to providing a high quality student experience by developing a “one-stop shop” for admission, enrollment, financial aid, bill payment (bursar) and related student services.
RSU’s business and HR operations currently occupy more than 3,000 square feet on the first floor of Markham Hall, which serves as the university’s enrollment and financial aid center. Moving these offices from Markham will free up first-floor space for enrollment, financial aid and other student-focused offices that currently occupy Markham’s second floor.
No timeline has been set for the projects, but university officials hope to begin soon as plans are under developed to relocate these services.
The university’s space utilization committee evaluated several proposals for use of the Innovation Center after the university ceased the facility’s operations this summer due to state budget cuts.
Relocation of the business offices was determined to be the best and most cost-effective option for improving access to the university’s enrollment management and bursar functions until funding can be secured for constructing a welcome and enrollment center near the Will Rogers entrance as part of RSU’s long-range campus plan. RSU currently is concentrating construction fundraising efforts for a new science building.
