Rogers State University’s sports information team has won three first-place awards for its work promoting the school’s athletic programs.
Two of the top awards came from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics — Sports Information Director Association, which honored RSU for its Combined Basketball Brochure both for its overall quality and for its cover.
The College Sports Directors of America also bestowed RSU a top award for work in the category of Best Cover Multiple-Sport Guide-Soccer.
RSU’s sports information team is composed of Sara Williams, senior woman administrator and assistant athletic director for media relations; Steven Braun, sports information director; and Randy Riggs, a graphic designer in RSU’s Public Relations office.
“It’s great to see the RSU sports information and public relations departments continue to receive national honors and awards,” said Ryan Bradley, RSU Director of Athletics. “Sara, Steve and Randy are extremely talented and hard-working individuals and I’m happy to see their efforts recognized by their peers from across the country.”
In addition to the top awards, RSU also placed highly in a number of other categories in the NAIA-SIDA contest.
In the Season Preview/Review writing category, Williams won fourth place, 10th place and tied for fifth place with Braun. Braun also won seventh and eighth places for his other entries in the category.
Braun finished seventh in the Feature Story category.
The team took second place in the Baseball Brochure category, third place in the Softball Brochure category and third and fifth place in the At-Large Brochure category.
