RSU-TV will air a tape-delayed broadcasting of Rogers State University’s 2004 commencement ceremony.
The taped broadcast of the commencement ceremony is scheduled to air at 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 12 and 3 p.m., Sunday, May 16. RSU-TV broadcasts on UHF channel 35, Claremore and Tulsa cable channel 19, and more than 70 cable systems in northeastern Oklahoma and southern Kansas.
RSU’s 92nd commencement was held on Saturday, May 8, at the Claremore Expo Center.
RSU awarded degrees to 360 students, the university’s largest graduating class in recent history, including 93 bachelor’s degrees recipients and 267 students who received associate’s degrees. This was the third year that RSU awarded bachelor’s degrees since gaining accreditation as a four-year university in 2000.
Station officials said the taped broadcast is a service to area residents and family members who are unable to attend the ceremony, in addition to providing a permanent record of the event.
As the only full-powered public television station licensed to a university in Oklahoma, RSU-TV provides educational, cultural and general interest programming to an audience of 1.2 million viewers in northeastern Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.
