An intensive four-week session of Adult Education and Literacy classes will be held in June at Rogers State University.
The fast track classes will allow students to prepare to complete the GED examination in time to enroll for RSU college classes during the fall 2001 semester. Classes are free and will meet daily Monday through Friday. They will begin on Wednesday, June 6, and end on Friday, June 29.
The morning session, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will focus on language arts and writing. The afternoon session, which will be held from 1-5 p.m., will focus on mathematics. Students may enroll in either or both courses. Enrollment must be completed by Wednesday, June 13, to participate in the fast track program.
Instruction for the classes is provided through the Oklahoma Department of Education’s Department of Lifelong Learning and Union Public Schools.
A GED graduation ceremony will be held in July.
Students who successfully pass the GED examination with a composite score of 50 or higher may qualify to apply for a Sarkeys Scholarship at RSU.
