Rogers State University will offer basic and intermediate emergency medical technician (EMT) training this fall at its campuses in Claremore and Pryor.
Enrollment is now open for basic and intermediate EMT classes, which will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
The intermediate EMT classes will be offered from 6-10 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The basic EMT classes will be offered from 6-10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A basic EMT class also will be offered on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at RSU’s Pryor campus.
The classes will be offered by RSU’s paramedic technology program, located in its Department of Health Sciences.
“Students will be eligible to take the National Registry Examination to become certified following successful completion of the coursework”, said Judy Dyke, coordinator of RSU’s paramedic technology program.
RSU offers basic EMT, intermediate EMT and paramedic courses, and offers an associate of applied science degree in paramedic technology. The programs are approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Health – Emergency Medical Services Division.
“These life-saving courses offered by RSU are important components of providing high quality emergency medical care in northeast Oklahoma,” Dyke said.
Anyone interested in enrolling in basic or intermediate EMT classes may attend an orientation session that will provide more information about the classes and the paramedic technology program. For more information on the orientation and upcoming classes, call (918) 343-7691.
