Rogers State University’s Community Counseling Student Association will host its second annual Mental Wealth Day Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Centennial Center on the RSU campus in Claremore. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The event’s goal is to promote mental health and wellness in the community. Participants will learn about resources, careers and educational opportunities in the fields of Mental Health, Criminal Justice and Social Science. Participants also will have the opportunity to participate in personal and professional development seminars ranging in topic from tobacco cessation to career paths in psychology.
In addition, RSU Counseling Services and volunteers from Grand Lake Mental Health Center will provide mental health screenings for RSU students.
RSU Career Services will host a social science career and graduate school fair in conjunction with the event, giving job seekers the opportunity to learn about available internships, jobs and volunteer positions in the field.
Completing the day’s activities, Oklahoma Blood Institute will host its fall blood drive.
The event is sponsored by the Community Counseling Student Association, Psi Chi, Psychology Club, RSU Career Services and RSU Counseling Services.
