Rogers State University has scheduled its 93rd commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 7 at the Claremore Expo Center.
The university expects to confer degrees to more than 400 students, including more than 125 bachelor’s degree candidates, from its three campuses and RSU Online. Members of the graduating class include students from as far away as Germany.
This is the university’s largest graduating class in recent history, topping last year’s class by more than 10 percent. The number of RSU students graduating with bachelor’s degrees this year increased by more than 35 percent increase compared with last year’s total. This event marks the fourth year RSU has graduated bachelor degree candidates since being accredited as a four-year university in August 2000.
Graduation events on the RSU campus will precede the university’s commencement ceremony at the Expo Center.
At 9 a.m., the RSU Nurse Pinning Ceremony will be held on campus at the Will Rogers Auditorium.
From 10:30 a.m. to noon, a free brunch will be held for all graduates and their families and friends on the lawn between Will Rogers Auditorium and Thunderbird Library. Rain location will be Thunderbird Hall (the former library building). .
At noon, graduates will line up on the south side of the Expo Center, which is located just southeast of the RSU campus. Family and friends are encouraged to be seated in the Expo Center at that time.
At 1 p.m., the commencement ceremony will begin in the Expo Center. Members of the RSU faculty and staff will participate in the ceremony.
