Rogers State University business students this fall have an additional bachelor’s degree to choose from now that RSU has started offering a bachelor of science in business administration.
The degree, with an option in either accounting or management, is designed to provide graduates with the knowledge to apply the functions of business in the increasingly competitive global economy.
“The university has experienced a consistently high demand – both from our students and from business and industry leaders in northeast Oklahoma – for an expansion of RSU’s business programs by offering a four-year business administration degree,” said RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley.
RSU was granted formal approval in April by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association to begin offering the degree.
The business administration degree requires a total of 124 credit hours. The program requires 45 credit hours in general education courses coupled with 39 hours of core business courses.
The degree offers specializations in either accounting or management, which would each requiring 21 hours within the degree option. Students may select either a university-approved minor from outside the business department or 19 hours of free electives, nine of which must be upper-division courses.
In addition to the bachelor’s degree in business administration, RSU also offers bachelor’s degrees in applied technology; biology with an option in environmental conservation or medical/molecular; business information technology with an option in computer network administration or software development/multimedia; liberal arts; and social science with an option in history/political science or psychology/sociology.
University officials currently are developing additional bachelor’s degree programs that will satisfy the needs of area students and employers.
Fall classes for RSU start on Aug. 15. Extended enrollment is available until Aug. 21. For more information, call (918) 343-7546 or 1-800-256-7511.
