Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education has approved a grant to benefit Rogers State University’s Department of Technology and Justice Studies.

RSU’s proposal, titled Drone Flight Safety and Skills, was approved for $3,100 in funding at the State Regent’s Board meeting Feb. 1, 2024, as part of the Regent’s Full STEM Ahead pilot program. Funding will be used at the university to explore and broaden training in STEM fields, specifically, in RSU’s drone piloting and related community outreach programs.

OSHRE’s Full STEM Ahead initiative is part of the Regents’ goal to produce 100,000 degrees and other credentials in STEM and critical occupations statewide by 2030.

Rogers State University offers drone pilot micro-credentials to meet the needs of aspiring professional drone pilots and hobbyists alike. RSU is part of the FAA’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Collegiate Training Initiative (UAS-CTI).
