RSU Radio continues to open its morning airwaves to community and campus groups interested in promoting their organizations and activities to area listeners.
The station, which broadcasts live daily from Rogers State University’s Claremore campus, is inviting guests to participate in its morning program, “Misti in the Morning,” which airs from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
RSU student Misti Grannemann, a radio and television major from Claremore, initiated this format this spring and has interviewed a variety of guests about topics related to civic clubs and non-profit organizations, public events and other community activities.
Cathy Coomer, RSU instructor and general manager of the radio station, said this radio show format is ideal for area clubs and non-profit organizations looking to gain new members, raise awareness for their group or to promote an upcoming event. The guest appearances are part of an initiative at RSU Radio to expand its programming to include more news and information about local events.
RSU Radio is the only alternative college radio station in Oklahoma. The station reaches listeners across northeast Oklahoma at 91.3 FM and around the world on the web at www.rsuradio.com.
The station plays an eclectic mix of music, much of which cannot be heard anywhere else in the state, including local music, pop alternative, Celtic music, traditional Native American music, classic country, rockabilly,” hip hop, jazz, blues and more. Most of the original programming is developed, produced and hosted by RSU students. In addition, RSU faculty members and members of the community host programs on the station.
