RSU Public TV to Host District 2 Congressional Debate on Oct. 29

Rogers State University Public TV will host a live 30-minute televised debate between District 2 congressional candidates Markwayne Mullin and Rob Wallace on Oct. 29.

The debate is scheduled for 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, in the Centennial Center Ballroom on the RSU campus in Claremore. The event is free and open to the public, but audience members must be seated by 6:50 p.m. for the broadcast.

Cindy Morrison, social media entrepreneur and former KTUL news anchor, will moderate the debate.

Mullin, the Republican candidate, and Rob Wallace, the Democratic candidate, are seeking to replace Democrat Dan Boren, who is not seeking re-election.

The debate will be carried live on RSU Public TV and streamed live on www.rsu.tv. A recording of the debate will be broadcast at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, and 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4.

The debate is sponsored by RSU Public TV, the Claremore Daily Progress, the Claremore Chamber of Commerce and the RSU Department of Communications.

Immediately following the Congressional debate, RSU Public TV will present “DebateWatch 2012,” a locally originated public focus group discussing the final presidential debate. “DebateWatch 2012” will feature a discussion moderated by Dr. Jeff Gentry, RSU professor of communications and Greg Kunz Chair in Communications, and Dr. Ken Hicks, RSU professor of history and political science.
