Rogers State University Public Relations staff was recognized for regional excellence with several awards during the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association annual awards banquet.
The university’s alumni publication “On The Hill” won first place in the newsletter category. The piece is designed by Kate Northcutt, RSU graphic designer, and edited by Brent Ortolani, director of RSUPR.
Northcutt also received two second-place awards, in the Events Promotion category for her Wild, Wild West Scholarship Auction and Dinner invitation and in Campaigns for her “Stake Your Claim” pieces promoting the National Survey of Student Engagement.
Randy Riggs, RSU graphic designer, and Kelli Fields, RSU web marketing coordinator, received second place in the Shoe String Award category for “Hillcub Fun Stuff.” The same entry was also recognized with an honorable mention in the Square Peg category.
Riggs teamed with Sara Williams, RSU assistant athletic director for media relations, and Ryan Bradley, RSU athletic director, to receive second place in Sports Publication for the “RSU Hillcat Basketball Media Guide.”
Riggs and Jimmy Hart, RSU public relations coordinator, were recognized with an honorable mention in the Poster Design category for “Enrollment Recruitment Poster.”
“These awards reflect just a portion of the high-quality work our staff did this year. They truly are a talented group that is dedicated to supporting the University’s mission,” Ortolani said.
The awards banquet was held July 11, 2011 at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation in Ardmore, Okla., as part of the OCPRA’s annual conference.
RSUPR provides an array of services to the university, including media relations, graphic design, publication development, photography, strategic marketing as well as web and social media-based communications.
