The Rogers State University Office of Public Relations staff received five awards in a recent statewide competition.
College public relations specialists from across the state competed in the 2009 Oklahoma College Public Relations Association annual awards contest, held at the Quartz Mountain Resort as part of the organization’s annual conference.
Randy Riggs, graphic designer and Brent Ortolani, director of public relations, won first place in the Poster Design Spot Color category for “A Survivor’s Story,” a poster promoting Lisl Bogart’s lecture about surviving the Holocaust.
Riggs, Ortolani, Nicole Nascenzi, public relations coordinator; Kelli Fields, web coordinator, and Kate Northcutt, graphic designer won a third place award in the Event Promotion Category for their work surrounding the RSU Centennial Celebration.
In addition, Riggs and Ryan Bradley, assistant director for media relations, won an honorable mention award in the Sports Publications Category for the RSU Basketball Media Guide.
In the category of Small Brochure/Flyer/Booklet, Riggs and Ortolani won an honorable mention for the university’s search piece.
In the Bright Idea Category, Fields and Riggs won an honorable mention for the Hillcat Cube Friend created so users can download and create their own Hillcat.
RSUPR provides an array of services to the university, including media relations, graphic design, publication development, photography, strategic marketing as well as web and social media-based communications.
