Jimmy Hart has been named public relations coordinator at Rogers State University.
As a member of the RSUPR team, Hart will develop and execute public relations and marketing strategies to reach various university audiences, with a special focus on prospective and current students. He will work closely with the offices of admission, student affairs and various student support functions at the university, in addition to academic schools and departments.
“We are pleased to add someone the caliber of Jimmy Hart to the RSUPR staff,” said Brent Ortolani, director of public relations. “He brings experience, enthusiasm and a variety of communications skills to our office, as well as a fresh perspective.”
Hart previously served as communications specialist at the University of Tulsa, where he represented several campus divisions, providing a broad array of public relations services including publication development, media relations, strategic marketing, social media communications, and more.
He also has served as director of communications and sponsorships for the Lewis Racing Team in Broken Arrow, worked as assistant sports editor at the Broken Arrow Daily Ledger and served as sports correspondent for the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader. He also completed a sports writing internship at the Salt Lake Tribune in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He received a bachelor of science in management, with a sports specialization and communications minor, from the University of Tulsa, where he was editor-in-chief of The Collegian, TU’s student newspaper. He also served as sports editor for The Collegian. During his tenure, the student newspaper received a variety of honors and awards.
