David Nelson has been named mass communications instructor at Rogers State University.
Nelson’s appointment was approved recently by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents.
Nelson will join the faculty of RSU’s Department of Communications and Fine Arts, located in the School of Liberal Arts.
Previously, Nelson has served as mass communications instructor at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa and Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. He also has served as an online instructor in mass communications at RSU.
He was general manager of the campus radio station at Northern Oklahoma College.
He is a former news and sports director for television and radio stations in Lawton, Okla. He also has served as an announcer and producer at radio stations in Houston, Enid and Oklahoma City.
He has taught a variety of courses in mass communications, including television production, public relations, radio and television announcing and news reporting and writing.
Currently, he is working on a doctoral degree in mass communications from Oklahoma State University. He has a master’s degree in communications from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Cameron University in Lawton.
