Rogers State University is planning a day’s worth of campus and community events to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, Jan. 18.
During the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, RSU students will participate in campus and community activities that will emphasize community service and peaceful action.
The activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, on Monday, Jan. 18, the official national holiday, with an opening ceremony featuring readings from RSU Theatre students, a musical performance from Crystal Boyles of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and opening remarks from RSU President Dr. Larry Rice. This event is free and open to the public.
At 10 a.m., students will begin several community service projects to benefit Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the RSU Child Development Center and the Claremore Veterans Center.
