RSU Mayes County Scholarship Breakfast Slated for Sept. 19

Mayes County Scholarship Breakfast

Rogers State University Interim President Dr. Mark Rasor and the RSU Foundation Board of Directors invite the public to breakfast at an open event to benefit RSU students.

The RSU Mayes County Scholarship Breakfast will be held 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Mayes County Fairgrounds Event Center in Pryor.

This event is free to attend, although donations are welcome. All funds raised from the event will provide scholarships for students from Mayes County attending Rogers State University in Pryor and students hailing from towns in Mayes County who are enrolled in classes at RSU in Claremore.

The RSU Foundation welcomes individuals, groups and businesses from the Pryor and Mayes County areas to show their support for students by becoming event supporters.

Advertising levels begin at $250 and sponsorship levels begin at $750 and should be submitted by Sept. 12.

Early sponsors and those supporting this year’s Mayes County Scholarship Breakfast include Nick Harris and Dr. Donita Smith, Kemp Quarries, and Bob and Cathy Webster (Mayes County Champion Sponsors); and Arvest Bank – Pryor, Hillcrest Hospital Pryor, MidAmerica Industrial Park, GRDA, Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilor Danny Callison (District 15), Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilor Kevin Easley, Jr. (District 14), RCB Bank, Kay Ingersoll, Williams Construction Company and RCI Insurance, and Lindel and Janette Stephens (Red and Blue Sponsors).

Advertisers include Dr Richard Beck, RSU Interim President Dr. R. Mark Rasor, Nash and Dana Lamb, Tim and Julie King, Dr. Lisa and Frank Muller, McBride and McBride – Lawyers of Oklahoma, Patriot Auto Group, and Caitlin M. Baney/Edward Jones.

Scholarship recipients may be eligible to receive up to $1,500 per semester, significantly reducing their out-of-pocket expense for investing in their education.

RSU Senior Director of Development Tonni Harrald noted that all who sponsor or contribute to events such as the RSU Mayes County Scholarship Fundraising Breakfast are making a difference in the lives of RSU students, and that all contributions are “sincerely appreciated.”

Following this event, the Foundation’s next scheduled fundraising event will be the annual Scholarship Auction and Dinner at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa (in Catoosa) Nov. 9, 2024. The theme for this year’s largest RSU Foundation scholarship fundraising event is “Red and Navy Royale.”

The RSU Pryor campus is the only college that serves Pryor and the Mayes County area, with an average semester enrollment of more than 350 students.
