The Innovation Center at Rogers State University in Claremore is hosting a workshop to teach entrepreneurs how to better use financial information.
The workshop, “Using Financial Information to Increase Profitability,” is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the RSU Innovation Center on the Claremore Campus.
Tom Franz, a Missouri-based certified public accountant and former consulting accountant for the City of Claremore, will present the workshop.
Franz has more than 20 years of financial management experience and 10 years of audit and consulting experience with Fortune 500 companies as well as start-ups and high-growth mid-market companies.
“Often typical small business owners and entrepreneurs get so tied up with day-to-day `operations that they do not take time to stop and check the financial pulse of their business,” said Dr. Ray Brown, RSU vice president for economic and community development.
This workshop will touch on several topics including how to use financial information to make informed management decisions and methods to develop a cash flow plan to increase profitability. Franz also will show attendees how to quickly spot trends in a business and how to assess the viability of projects such as equipment purchases and facility expansions.
The fee for the workshop is $15.
