Rogers State University will celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with its annual “Holiday on the Hill” on Nov. 30.
The campus lighting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, in front of Preparatory Hall, the gold domed building at the main entrance of the Claremore campus. The event will include performances by the RSU Choir and preschoolers from the RSU Child Development Center.
Dr. David Blakely, RSU associate professor of communications and director of the RSU theater program, will perform a reading of the holiday classic “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
The public is encouraged to bring their cameras to take photos of children and the young at heart posing with special guests Santa Claus and Hunter the Hillcat. Free hot chocolate and hot apple cider will be served. “Holiday on the Hill” is free and open to the public.
“Our physical plant workers have been busy hanging more than 24,000 lights around campus and we look forward to sharing our annual holiday lighting ceremony with the community,” said Misty Smith, director of student development at RSU.
