Rogers State University will celebrate the start of the holiday season with its annual “Holiday on the Hill” event Dec. 1.
The campus lighting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, in front of Preparatory Hall on the hilltop Claremore campus. The event will include performances by preschoolers from the RSU Child Development Center and RSU Theater professor Dr. David Blakely, who will perform a holiday reading.
The public is encouraged to bring their cameras to take photos of children and the young-at-heart posing with special guests Santa and the Hillcat. Free hot chocolate and hot apple cider will be served. “Holiday on the Hill” is free and open to the public.
“Our physical plant workers have been busy hanging more than 24,000 lights around campus and we look forward to sharing our annual holiday lighting ceremony with the community,” said B.J. Armstrong, director of student activities at RSU.
