RSU’s Rainbow Six Siege Esports team has advanced to the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship game this Wednesday, April 9.

Undefeated this season, the team finished the regular season with a 7-0 record before beating Grand Valley State University in the quarterfinals and then the University of Iowa team in the semifinals.

This is RSU Siege’s first appearance in a conference final and would represent the program’s first undefeated championship season in any title. A win on Wednesday will also grant the team a spot in the upcoming NECC National Tournament, a chance to compete against the year’s top performers on stage in San Antonio, Texas.

Head Esports Coach Holden Craig said he’s proud of the team’s performance.

“I’m immensely proud of the way our Siege team has worked every week to compete at a championship level. They have found success against really talented teams this season and I’m glad they have the chance to take part in a conference final this season,” Craig said.

Rainbow Six Siege team members include Jacob “Jake” Biggs, Austin “Aus” Smith, Parker “Fry” Fry, Corbin “Corb” Harris, Parker “Tallon” Tallon, and Ben “Benito” Brown.

“This season has been a grind. We came in with a goal and never let up,” said junior Jacob Biggs. “Every match has been a dominant statement, and the finals will show it. We’re ready to finish what we started.”

The RSU Esports media team will be broadcasting the match live April 9 at 7 p.m. at twitch.tv/rsuesports.
