Members of Rogers State University’s student organization, the Criminal Justice Society (CJS), hosted peace and law officers from local and regional law enforcement agencies at the Coffee with a Cop event Wednesday, March 5, on RSU’s Claremore campus.
Officers from 10 law enforcement agencies – including the Claremore Police Department, Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, U.S. Marshals, Owasso Police Department, Jenks Police Department, Tulsa and Mayes Counties, and more – met with CJS members and other RSU students, faculty and staff for an informal get-together that allowed law officers to meet members of the community.
Also in attendance were three district attorneys, including Rogers County D.A. Matt Ballard.
RSU’s Criminal Justice Society is a student organization that promotes academic excellence to make those who work within the criminal justice system more effective. The group is open to RSU students interested in criminal justice and meets at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays in Room 129 of Herrington Hall.
