Company B of the 15th Missouri Infantry, a Civil War re-enactment unit based at Rogers State University, will hold its annual Living History Encampment on Saturday, Nov. 23, on the RSU campus.
The unit will set up a typical Civil War camp between the Will Rogers Auditorium and the RSU Library. They will demonstrate the daily life of a Civil War soldier.
The day will include several infantry drills and artillery drills, preparation of authentic meals, and Civil War-era games.
The public is invited to attend the event and learn more about the Civil War free of charge. The camp will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition, the unit will host a Civil War dance in the old armory in downtown Claremore as part of the Dickens on the Boulevard holiday celebration. The dance will begin at 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
