The Rogers State University Choir will present its second and final concert of the spring semester on Tuesday, April 27.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Will Rogers Auditorium on the RSU campus in Claremore.
The title of the concert will be “Music for the Stage” and will encompass a variety of genres from opera and oratorio to Broadway. Music performed will range from the compositions of Andrew Lloyd Webber and George Gershwin to the classic repertoire of Antonio Vivaldi and George Frederic Handel.
The concert will feature a medley from Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera,” a work from Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess,” and a piece from Handel’s “Judas Maccabeus,” in addition to other selections.
“The choir has dedicated themselves to becoming a unified ensemble. Their sound has matured tremendously throughout the semester,” said Nancy Salgado, RSU Choir director.
