Dr. David R. Newcomb has been named Assistant Professor of Sociology at Rogers State University. Newcomb will join the faculty of RSU’s School of Liberal Arts in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Newcomb formerly served as Associate Professor of Sociology and Psychology at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, N.M. Previously, he was Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha.
He also has taught at Blinn College, Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University. Last year, he received the Superior Teaching Award from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. His areas of academic specialty include sociological theory and social psychology.
He received a doctoral degree from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virg., and a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virg.
