Rogers State University announced two new hires along with a staff member taking on a new role within the Office of Student Affairs.
Candice Apt, who previously served as Student Activities Coordinator at RSU, has been named Career Services Coordinator. RSU alumna Leah Asbury has been hired as Disability Services Coordinator, and Brock Crawford has been hired to fill the Student Activities Coordinator position formerly filled by Apt.
A 2009 RSU graduate, Apt has coordinated RSU’s student activities and student organizations since 2011. In her new capacity for career services, she will provide students and alumni with quality career advising. Apt will be in charge of RSU’s career development program.
Apt serves on the university’s Multi-Cultural Committee, the United Way Committee and the newly formed Staff Advisory Council. She also is an advisor to the Campus Activities Team and the College Panhellenic Association.
Asbury is returning to her alma mater after completing her first year at University of Tulsa College of Law. At TU Law, Asbury focused on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title IX, skills she will use to help students. While she was a student at RSU, Asbury served on the Campus Activities Team and was active in a number of student organizations.
Crawford comes to RSU after spending the last two years in broadcasting at KOTV in Tulsa. An alumni of NSU, Crawford led the RiverHawk Ambassador program, was the concert chair for the Northeastern Activities Board and produced football games as the technical director for NSUTV.
“We’re excited about the staffing changes in Student Affairs,” said Misty Smith, interim director of Student Affairs. “Candice, Leah, and Brock bring a diverse set of skills and backgrounds to the university and each of them is very focused on making sure the needs of our students are met.”
