Rogers State University has announced a major enrollment increase for the summer semester.
This summer, 1,263 students are enrolled in classes at RSU – a 31 percent increase over the summer of 2001 and a 43 percent increase over the summer of 2000.
“Enrollment in our summer classes has almost doubled in two years,” Wiley said. “This is a phenomenal rate of growth and further evidence of the great demand for higher education in this region.”
In addition, full-time equivalency enrollment and number of student credit hours shot up by 33 percent over last summer and 48 percent over the previoussummer.
“We are very pleased that students are continuing to take advantage of RSU’s quality academic programs in such large numbers,” Wiley said. “This translates into a more educated workforce and an overall higher level of educational attainment for northeast Oklahoma.”
RSU officials expect enrollment to increase again this fall for the ninth consecutive semester since the institution was accredited as a four-yearuniversity in August 2000.
