Rogers State University has posted significant enrollment increases on its campuses during the current semester.
This spring, 3,714 students are enrolled at the university, an increase of 3.8 percent over last spring when 3,577 students attended RSU. In addition, the number of credit hours in which student are enrolled has increased by 6.5 percent compared to this time last year.
“We are gratified to record such a significant increase in enrollment,” said RSU President Dr. Larry Rice. “Our most important endeavor at the university is to provide a high-quality education to as many people as possible and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”
Enrollment increased at all RSU campuses, including a 2.8 percent increase on the Claremore campus, 7.5 percent increase on the Pryor campus, 5.3 percent increase in online programs and a 24 percent increase on the Bartlesville campus – the largest increase of all enrollment categories.
“We are pleased with the continual significant growth of our Bartlesville campus,” Rice said. “This increase is the result of the expansion of educational programs and facilities in Bartlesville, as well as the steadfast support of the community.”
RSU offers bachelor’s degrees in business and a two-year nursing bridge program (LPN to RN) on the Bartlesville campus, as well as a variety of associate degrees. In addition, the Bartlesville campus offers the first two years of classes to prepare for almost any RSU major. Two science laboratories opened in Bartlesville last fall.
The second largest increase in enrollment at RSU was at its Pryor campus, where a new wing opened at the beginning of the spring semester, almost doubling the size of the campus. The newly expanded campus features classrooms with new SMART Board technology, learning laboratories, offices and Student Commons Area. A wide variety of new classes were added at the Pryor campus this spring. A dedication ceremony and open house at the Pryor campus, which is open to the public, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
Enrollment for the upcoming summer and fall semesters will begin on Monday, March 30. However, new freshman can enroll early at Early Enrollment Day at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, on the Claremore and Bartlesville campuses.
