Thomas Volturo, vice president for business affairs at Rogers State University, has been appointed to the Oklahoma State Accountancy Board.
Gov. Brad Henry recently appointed Volturo along with 16 others to state boards and commissions. The Accountancy Board is a regulatory board that oversees the practice of public accounting across the State of Oklahoma.
“This is quite an honor and privilege, and I look forward to serving the state and the citizens of Oklahoma,” said Volturo.
At RSU, Volturo is responsible for a variety of business functions, including accounting, auditing, budgeting, fiscal management, physical plant and human resources.
Volturo formerly served as vice president for fiscal affairs and auxiliary enterprises at East Central University in Ada, where he was responsible for all accounting and budgeting functions. He served as the administrator for six university departments, including physical plant, duplicating, accounting, purchasing, business offices and switchboard.
Previously, he was assistant state auditor and inspector for the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector’s Office; director of internal audits for the Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges; assistant director of the State Auditor and Inspector’s Office; and systems analyst for Tulsa County Data Processing. He also held several positions at the Oklahoma State Examiner and Inspector’s Office.
He also served on the Records and Archives Commission for four years and the State Insurance Fund for eight years.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University and an associate’s degree in business from St. Gregory’s College. He is a member of a wide variety of professional and civic organizations.
