The Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) Educational Foundation has announced its 2022-23 scholarship recipients — awarding $54,000 to 43 accounting students across Oklahoma.
Among these recipients is Rogers State University student Chelsea Fivekiller, who was named a General Scholarship winner. Fivekiller is pursuing a bachelor’s of science in business administration – accounting degree program.
Fivekiller, a native of Wylie, Texas, has completed Intermediate Accounting I and II under Dr. Tom Carment. Her primary advisor is Dr. Massoud Saffarian.
“I’m so thankful for this OSCPA scholarship because it will help me continue to see my family on the weekends,” Fivekilller said. “My home with my husband and children is in Texas, so I travel down there after class every Thursday and back up on Sundays to do it all over again each week. It can be taxing at times, so this money will really help with that burden so I can focus on school and the future for my family will be more stable.”
Scholarships range from $500 to $4,000. In addition to general scholarships, the OSCPA proudly offered 10 legacy scholarships to accounting students with significant achievements.
Each year, the OSCPA Educational Foundation raises money through donations and fundraisers.
Scholarship winners are selected in the summer and distribution occurs the following August.
The OSCPA Educational Foundation is a nonprofit 501©3 corporation that promotes the accounting profession by offering scholarships to Oklahoma’s most promising accounting students.
