Rogers State University Residential Life is introducing a food pantry to provide campus residents in need the opportunity to get food they are unable to buy due to financial hurdles. Any student who lives on campus may take advantage of this program, known as “Food for Thought.”
The food pantry is located inside the Residential Life Clubhouse at University Village B, behind the yellow wall. The hours students will able to access the pantry will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Donations may be made to the Residential Life Clubhouse Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations may include any non-perishable foods, canned foods, snacks, instant breakfast foods, instant dinner foods or juices that can be stored on a shelf.
In an effort to increase donations, items for “Food for Thought” will be collected at the door of RSU musical performances this year.
RSU students developed the “Food for Thought” program after seeing a similar service at Iowa State University. For more information, call the RSU Office of Residential Life at 918-343-7789.
