RSU’s School of Nursing and Health Professions graduates are uniquely prepared to tackle the complexities of modern healthcare.

Rogers State University graduates in nursing and health professions possess a strong foundation in patient care, critical thinking, and healthcare systems, making them well-equipped for advanced roles. RSU’s training emphasizes not only clinical skills but also critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, which are essential for making informed decisions in high-pressure situations.

Career Opportunities in the School of Nursing & Health Professions

RSU’s registered nurses enjoy careers at regional health systems, local hospitals and clinics, school nursing positions, military facilities, and in many other organizations that allow bachelor’s prepared nurses to make an impact on the lives of patients and families.

Allied Health pre-professional majors gain the knowledge required to obtain admission to graduate programs in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy. Building on a solid foundation of baccalaureate education, our graduates are well-suited to make a difference in the lives of patients through employment in rehabilitation facilities, school systems, athletic programs, clinics and hospitals.

The School of Nursing and Health Professions Mission

Our missions is to prepare students to achieve personal and professional goals. We strive to educate safe and competent beginning practitioners of selected health fields, as well as prepare students majoring in other fields with health courses to support their degrees.

Our faculty is committed to excellence in teaching and student service.

Learning is best accomplished by providing students with accurate and reliable information, opportunities for individualized learning experiences, and guidance and direction through supportive services. The teacher-learner relationship is enhanced when accountabilities and expected outcomes are clear. Students are supported and guided by the faculty to become active participants in learning in order to achieve professional and personal goals. Our faculty believes that scientific reasoning and critical thinking are reflected as clinical judgment.

Kelsi Fields ’23, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

“The nursing program did an excellent job preparing me for the nursing field. The professors were great at explaining aspects I didn’t fully understand. I felt very encouraged and supported in my journey at RSU. Use your resources in your field of study. My advisor was so helpful my last semester when I was deciding on what job to accept. She helped me realize where I’d be a good fit. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.”
