A new luxury on-campus apartment complex for all students, featuring private bedrooms with high-speed Internet access in each room, a swimming pool and outdoor sand volleyball court, will open in August at Rogers State University.
Applications are currently being accepted for the apartment complex, located on RSU’s main campus in Claremore.
“The affordable cost to live in this state-of-the-art, luxury facility is much less than most students expect,” said Patrick Masar, manager of the apartment complex. “And best of all – scholarships and financial aid are available to help offset living costs.”
The costs are $325 per month for a one-year contract and $341 per month for a nine-month contract. Rates include basic cable and Internet access in each bedroom, local telephone, water and sewer and access to all on-site amenities. Students will be responsible for electricity bills. The leases feature individual liability so students will not be responsible for their roommate’s expenses, Masar added.
A gift certificate of $100 to the RSU Bookstore will be provided to those who sign up for the new student housing before Aug. 1. In addition, participation in prize drawings also is available to those who register to live in the facility. Prizes will include a laptop computer, a nine-month membership to the Claremore Expo Center and a $100 gift certificate for groceries.
The three-story structure on the west side of the campus features a neo-Georgian design, a pitched roof and a facade of red brick with native limestone rock accents – consistent with the architectural theme of the university’s other historic buildings. The facility is located near the RSU Library and 120-acre RSU Conservation Education Reserve.
The apartments will accommodate 248 students in fully furnished private suites containing four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area, and fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher. Entrances to each suite will be located in the interior of the facility.
The suites will be located in two L-shaped wings, connected by a 5,761-square-foot commons building that will include a computer laboratory, study rooms, laundry facility, kitchenette, and a large multipurpose room with a large-screen television for the use of all residents.
The complex also will feature a swimming pool, an outdoor sand volleyball court, and a covered picnic facility.
Residence life programming will be offered throughout the year on topics such as resume writing, stress and time management and job interview preparation. In addition, the facility will offer movie nights, pool parties and cultural events.
“Students will benefit from convenient access to professors and classrooms, and of course, many are excited about all of the activities and the amenities,” Masar said. “And parents appreciate the affordability and secure, safe environment.”
The $8.3 million project is being financed by revenue bonds issued by the Claremore Industrial and Redevelopment Authority. The facility is being constructed and will be managed by Century Development Corporation of Houston.
The application process begins with a $150 security deposit and a $25 non-refundable processing fee. For more information about the new apartments, or to complete an application, call the (918) 343-RSU9 (7789).
