The evening of Tuesday, Nov. 1, will be Rogers State University Dollars for Scholars Night at the McDonald’s restaurant at 1220 W. Will Rogers Blvd. in Claremore.
Between 5-8 p.m., McDonald’s will contribute 20 percent of all sales to the Dollars for Scholars campaign, which raises funds for scholarships for RSU students.
The public is invited to enjoy McDonald’s food while helping to support scholarships for students, said Tonni Harrald, RSU director of development.
Parents and children are encouraged to bring baseballs, which can be autographed by members of the new RSU Hillcat baseball team.
The public also may view the new blue and crimson RSU Hillcat bus, which will be on display during the evening in the parking lot west of McDonald’s (old Git ‘N Go parking lot.)
Members of the Dollars for Scholars committee, RSU Foundation Board of Directors and RSU staff members will be working behind the counter, scooping fries and busing tables to show their appreciation to the restaurant for its contribution to the Dollars for Scholars fund. Sales generated inside the restaurant or in the drive-through lanes will qualify for the contribution.
Each year, Dollars for Scholars seeks to raise funds for scholarships among area businesses and individuals. Many businesses select to contribute a percentage of daily sales to the fundraising campaign, which will continue through March 2006. The goal of the Dollars for Scholars campaign, including the annual scholarship auction, is $100,000.
