A graduate student at Rogers State University is one of 20 people in the country to receive a fellowship award from Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society for business, management and administration.
Ronna Hatley, who is earning her Master of Business Administration at RSU, received a Sigma Beta Delta Fellowship Award on July 31. Hatley works as an Advising/Retention Specialist in RSU’s School of Business and Technology, and she helps induct new members to the honor society each year.
“I wasn’t sure if I would have a chance at the fellowship, but I was glad to be given the opportunity,” Hatley said. “When I found out I was one of 20 to receive a fellowship, I was very excited because this is a great honor.”
Sigma Beta Delta offers fellowships ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 to qualifying members for use in their academic studies. Each year, local chapters across the country are invited to nominate one new qualifying member for a fellowship award. Fellowship awards must be used for senior or master’s level study.
Hatley, who lives in Claremore, will use her fellowship to continue earning her MBA at RSU. She previously completed the Reach Higher program at RSU in 2012. She said she appreciates the graduate program and looks forward to her classes this fall.
“Working together and being competitive in the classroom is wonderful,” Hatley said. “I am learning so much, and I see the importance of continuing education.”
