Founders and Associates, Inc. has awarded a major gift for computers and science laboratory equipment at Rogers State University.
The gift of $241,785 will allow RSU to purchase a variety of computer and laboratory equipment for its mathematics and science student computer laboratory, for faculty members across campus, and for the university’s physical science and physics laboratory.
“This generous gift will enable our students and faculty to reach new levels of education in math and science,” said RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley.” The acquisition of this much-needed equipment will significantly enhance teaching excellence and facilitate student learning and productivity.”
The first portion of the gift – in the amount of $129,500 – will allow RSU to purchase ten personal computers and a printer for faculty members in its Department of Health Sciences; 22 personal computers and two printers for the university’s Mathematics and Science Student Computer Laboratory; 30 personal computers for faculty members across campus; a student file server; and a web server.
The second portion of the gift – in the amount of $112,285 – will enable RSU to purchase a variety of equipment for the physical science and physics laboratory in the School of Mathematics, Science, and Health Sciences.
“This gift will transform an aging, meagerly-equipped science laboratory into a state-of-the-art laboratory showplace in the physical sciences and physics,” Wiley added.
“The long-standing support of Founders and Associates has been deeply appreciated by both faculty and students at the university,” said Dr. Danette Boyle, RSU Vice President for Development. “The university would not have been able to purchase these important educational tools without the support of Founders and Associates.”
