Printmaking - From Goya to Hanks

Gary Moeller Gallery of the Arts in Baird Hall

Printmaking From Goya to Hanks poster

A reception with light refreshments will be held on Thursday, September 26, from 5 - 6:30 p.m.

Rogers State University in Claremore, OK is pleased to present “Printmaking – From Goya to Hanks”, an exhibition of fine art prints from the Rosser/Floyd collection. The exhibit presents 46 selected works from late 18th century to the present with an emphasis on 20th century American printmaking. Many of the prints are art historically significant and represent a diverse array of artists, periods, and styles.

Works in this collection have been amassed over the last 50 years by Professor Steven Rosser and Darleta Floyd. It began in 1974 and has continued to expand to the present, with the most recent acquisition earlier this year. This eclectic collection, driven by the personal aesthetics of the collectors, has been focused on beauty and visual interest while bearing in mind the artist’s position in the history of printmaking.

Living with art is to surround oneself images, ideas, and beauty. Each work is an ever-present companion, whose meaning and significance changes as we move through life. Every piece has a history, both as a work of art and how it came to be in this collection. These works represent some of the collector’s favorite and most important pieces.

The exhibit is up through October 18, 2024, in the Gary Moeller Gallery of the Arts in Baird Hall on the RSU campus.
