RSU To Offer Free Event on College Life For High School Students and Parents
High school junior and seniors and their parents can learn about college life at Rogers State University’s “Destination RSU: College Day 2003” on Saturday, October 11.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon at RSU’s main campus in Claremore.
“This special event is designed to help students and parents in making important decisions about attending college and taking advantage of the wide variety of scholarship and financial aid opportunities available at RSU,” said Becky Noah, RSU Director of Enrollment Management.
“Destination RSU” will begin with registration and a free continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the Health Sciences Building.
RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley will address high school students, their parents and their families at 9 a.m.
“Destination RSU” will feature breakout sessions for students and parents. Students will participate in “Mini-Rabbit Camp,” in which they will learn about RSU history, traditions and student life. Parents will participate in “Faculty in Action,” where they will meet with RSU deans and faculty members. Guided tours of the campus will be given to students and parents.
Participants also will have the opportunity to learn more about financial aid and student services available at RSU. The RSU Bookstore will be open throughout the morning.
A variety of door prizes will be given away, including two valuable RSU scholarships.
In addition, a free cookout lunch and live music will be held at the new RSU student apartment complex for all students and their families.
