High school junior and seniors and their parents can learn about college life at Rogers State University’s “Destination RSU: College Day 2009” on Saturday, November 7.
This year, “Destination RSU” will be held during the special Centennial Homecoming on the RSU campus in Claremore.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Centennial Center. Participants should register for the event by calling (918) 343-7546 or 1-800-256-7511, or sending an email to [email protected].
After the event, participants and their parents are invited to attend RSU men’s and women’s basketball games free of charge.
“This special event is designed to help students and parents in making important decisions about attending college and taking advantage of the wide variety of scholarship and financial aid opportunities available at RSU,” said Julie Rampey, RSU Director of Admissions.
“Destination RSU” will begin with registration and a free continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m. in the Centennial Center.
RSU President Dr. Larry Rice will welcome high school students, their parents and their families to the event.
“Destination RSU” will feature breakout sessions for students and parents in which they will meet RSU faculty members, receive guided tours of the campus and learn more about college life.
Participants also will have the opportunity to learn more about admission procedures, availability of scholarships and other financial aid and the wide variety of student activities and services available at RSU.
A free tailgate lunch will be served to all students and their families following the event during the third annual homecoming celebration.
All participants will be eligible for a drawing for four tuition waiver scholarships.
