Associates from the Claremore Wal-Mart Supercenter recently presented a $1,000 grant to the Rogers State University Foundation for university’s Dollars for Scholars scholarship campaign.
“Our associates were excited to make this donation to such a worthwhile cause,” said Lindel Stephens, manager for the Claremore Wal-Mart Supercenter. “The money will be utilized for programs in the local community that we are glad to support. This is just a small part of Wal-Mart’s ongoing commitment to the communities in which we operate.”
The RSU Foundation currently is engaged in the eighth annual Dollars for Scholars campaign, which seeks to raise $100,000 through the campaign and its annual scholarship auction to fund university scholarships.
Dr. Danette Boyle, RSU vice president for development, said the university is grateful for area businesses, like Wal-Mart, that support scholarship programs to help students attain their educational goals.
