A series of television programs focusing on Oklahoma’s state colleges and universities, including Rogers State University, will be broadcast on OETA this fall.
The first installment of “Candid Campus” will air at 10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, on OETA Channel 11 in Claremore and Tulsa. The series of 20 programs was produced by the Higher Education Alumni Council of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University Educational Television Services. “Candid Campus will provide the public with a heightened awareness of higher education and will focus on various programs at specific institutions,” said Carlos E. Johnson, president of Higher Education Alumni Council.
The rapid growth of RSU is featured throughout the series in segments on the new Stratton Taylor Library, Center for Economic and Community Development and Bit-by-Bit Therapeutic Horse Riding Program.
Lance Ward serves as host and Gwin Faulconer is the reporter for the series. Ward is a former secretary of the Oklahoma State Election Board and the Oklahoma State Senate; executive director of the Higher Education Alumni Council; administrative assistant to the President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate; and assistant to the president and director of public information at Oklahoma City Community College.
Faulconer-Lippert is a professor of mass media communications who joined the Oklahoma City Community College faculty in 1988. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in adult, community and higher education from the University of Oklahoma. She was president of the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association and has served on the board of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.
