The eighth annual Boots fundraiser, benefiting the Rogers State University Bit by Bit Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program, will take place Friday, June 8, at Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa
“Boots Goes to Gilcrease” will feature a dinner, silent and live auctions and live cowboy music by Paul Bogart.
Travis Meyer, meteorologist with KOTV Channel 6, will return as the event’s emcee with co-host Kristen Tallent of Fox23. Jack Bogart will serve as the auctioneer for the event.
“Boots Goes to Gilcrease” will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Gilcrease Museum, located at 1400 North Gilcrease Museum Road. Museum tours will be available to Boots guests beginning at 5:15 p.m. Tickets for the event are $50 per person.
Proceeds from the event benefit Bit by Bit, a therapeutic horseback riding program serving individuals with disabilities. The program operates at the RSU Equestrian Center, located five miles south of Oologah and two miles north of Collinsville on U.S. Highway 169.
The highly-regarded program provides riding sessions and other therapeutic interactions with the horses which improve balance and enhances strength, coordination, language along with cognitive and behavioral skills for participating clients.
The event organizing committee includes event chair Leslie Westfall and committee members Cheryl and John Brooks, Michelle Crawford, Sue MacClish, Dana Ramos, Elmer Symsack and Normajean Tomasko.
