Rogers State belted a season-high four home runs and cranked out 15 hits in rout to a 16-10 drubbing of Bacone College at the Hillcat Complex on Tuesday.
The Hillcats plated six runs on five hits in the bottom of the first inning. Todd Koscheski laced a two RBI double to left and Zack Bacon followed with a two-run homer over the right field wall. Greg Speed clubbed his second long ball of the season in the second inning when he lifted a three-run shot over the center field wall. Ryan Littlejohn added a solo homer in the third and Bacon hammered his second blast of the game in the seventh.
Starter Brent Hill (7-2) allowed eight runs over six innings, but still managed to pick up his team-leading seventh victory. Hill fanned seven Warrior batters without yielding a walk. Bacone didn’t go quietly as the Warriors tallied 10 runs on 12 hits in the contest. However, the issue was never really in doubt. RSU scored multiple runs in four different innings. Littlejohn, Speed, Bacon, Eric Bunch and Andrew Sherman all enjoyed multi-hit games for the Hillcats.
Coach Ron Bradley’s club improved to 23-16 with the victory and will hit the road on Thursday for a doubleheader at Evangel (Springfield, Mo.) University. The next home game for RSU is scheduled for April 14 vs. Hillsdale Baptist University.
