The Rogers State University Foundation will be holding its 12th annual scholarship auction and dinner, which supports its Unrestricted Scholarship program that last year awarded more than $160,000 in scholarships to 118 RSU students who might not otherwise be able to attend college.
The “Saddle Up for Scholarships” auction and dinner will be held Friday, April 29, at the Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs Events Center. The western-themed event will feature silent and live auctions and barbecue dinner. Check-in begins at 6 p.m., the buffet opens at 6:30 p.m. and the live auction begins at 7:30 p.m.
PELCO Structural LLC is the presenting sponsor for the event. The auction will be emceed by Kristen Glover-Galyean and Jaren Glover with music will be provided by The Fox and Hounds bluegrass band.
Reservations are $50 per person. Sponsorships are still available, including table sponsors that include a table for eight for $500.
The RSU Foundation Unrestricted Scholarship Program is funded in primarily through its Scholarship Auction and Dinner, and its Claremore Scholarship Breakfast.
The auction includes a raffle for a truck or other vehicle valued up to $28,000 at either Glover Auto Family or Jack Kissee Ford, or the winner may elect to receive $20,000 cash. Raffle tickets are $50 per ticket, for five for $200.
The winning ticket will be drawn during the April 29 event, and the winner does not need to be present to win.
As part of the event, the RSU Foundation is also selling three Rustic Cuff bracelets, including:
- Custom Two-Color, Turquoise and Bronze $32
- Bronze Single-Color Bracelet $22
- Turquoise Single-Color Bracelet $22
Those who purchase the custom two-color bracelet and wear it during the auction will be eligible to receive a prize to be drawn during the auction.

Tickets for the auction or the raffle may be purchased at the RSU Development office or from any RSU Foundation Board member or auction committee members.
