RMERA Annual Conference April 25, 2025
RSU will host the 51st Annual Conference of the Rocky Mountain Educational Research Association (RMERA) Friday, April 25, 2025, on the RSU campus in Claremore. This year’s conference theme is “Research Reinvigorated.” The conference is an excellent opportunity for faculty and students to showcase quality educational research and to network with professionals and students in the field of arts and sciences education.
Call for Presentations
Those interested in submitting a proposal to present their research at the conference must submit their work online. Submission deadline is March 28, 2025. Notification of acceptance will take place by April 8.
Proposals are invited in the categories of: (a) Humanities; (b) Psychology; (c) Social Issues; (d) Teaching and Pedagogy. Four delivery forms are possible: (1) Symposia (Humanities only); (2) Paper Presentations; (3) Poster Presentations; (4) Teaching Demonstrations.
(1) Symposia: Symposia (Humanities only) will feature 2-4 concise papers for fifteen-minute (maximum) individual presentations to promote interactive, seminar discussion of a thematic subject. Papers/presentations should demonstrate close reading of 1 or 2 core, foundational books (or possibly films) to introduce a theoretical issue or problem and advance a particular interpretation. Individual paper submissions will be organized into panels: proposals should include a title and an abstract (250 words limit). Pre-organized panels are welcome: proposals should name the Chair (principal organizer) and include a group/panel abstract (250 words limit) and the title, presenter name, and an abstract of each paper (250 words limit).
(2) Paper Presentations: Paper presentations are designed to share findings of a current or ongoing research activity. Participants will deliver a 20-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute question-and-answer period. Proposals should include: i.) Introduction; ii.) Statement of the problem; iii.) A summary of the methods to include a description of the data collection, instrumentation, analysis, and the subjects; and iv.) Results and conclusions/implications of the study. Please note: clarity is more important than form.
(3) Poster Presentation: Posters are to be organized to permit 30 minutes of informal discussion of research projects, innovative instructional or administrative techniques, or new types of instrumentation. Presenters will remain with their posters during the poster session. Poster proposals should include a description of the topic, its significance, and methods used. Be sure your name and the title of your poster are shown in a prominent location so that they can be easily read by viewers.
(4) Teaching Demonstrations: Speakers will have 30 minutes to demonstrate an innovative method.
